Special Workplace Violence Seminar
Saturday, February 29 @ 12:30 PM
No matter how you earn a living, the risk of workplace violence is a reality that shouldn't be ignored. In a recent survey, it was reported that nearly 1 in 7 people feel unsafe at their jobs. It's little wonder. According to OSHA, over 2 million people are affected by workplace violence every year. For instance, in 2017, more than 18,000 people suffered non-fatal injuries, and 800 people were killed in incidents of workplace violence.
From high-risk jobs, such as first-responder and emergency medicine, to professional and service occupations, there are many bad situations anybody can find themselves in. Harassment, bullying, assaults, rape, and active killer situations are just some examples. On Saturday, February 29, Krav Maga Rochester will be hosting a special Workplace Violence Seminar from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm. During this course, we will look at ways to respond to incidents when they occur, and ways to predict violence before it happens. This event is open to the public at a cost of $75 ($70 for current members of Krav Maga Rochester). Registration closes February 22!
Again, this is open to anyone AGES 16 AND OVER, with prior experience in Krav Maga (or other martial arts) or no experience at all. There will be active participation and scenario training as well as instruction on individual personal protection skills.
